by Paul Daley and David Scaletti
David Scaletti and Paul Daley have a great passion for the world famous golf courses within Melbourne's world glorious Sandbelt region. Whilst this passion makes neither man unique, the book the pair have produced, paying homage to the region, does as it is truly one of golf's most astonishing publishing projects.
The Sandbelt - Melbourne's golfing heaven features stunning photography by David Scaletti, Australia's leading golf photographer, and a collection of brilliant essays, anecdotes and reviews from a range of golfing personalities. Paul Daley has overseen and edited contributions from Ben Crenshaw, Nick Faldo, Peter Thomson, Mike Clayton, Ian Baker-Finch, Peter Alliss and Tom Doak among others, whilst also contributing a series of biting essays on golf in Melbourne.

The book was officially launched at the Kingston Heath Golf Club on November 14 with a special appearance by Australian golfing legend Norman Von Nida. Describing the area known as Melbourne's Sandbelt as the equal to any golfing region on Earth, The Von spoke fondly of his earliest memories of golf in Melbourne. Also present at the book launch were Bill Whitton, son of the immortal Australian golfing forefather Ivo Whitton, famed architect Michael Wolveridge and a host of Aussie golf luminaries.
From a design perspective The Sandbelt - Melbourne's Golfing Heaven book is stunning, with a most intricate attention to detail. Stories are lovingly retold and accompanied by wonderful full page golf photography.
It has long been an oversight on the part of the Australian golf industry that the Melbourne Sandbelt as a region had until now been overlooked by writers and publishers.
Not only is the new Sandbelt book the definitive reference for the entire Sandbelt region, it is a photographic tribute of significant quality and a must-have publication for all golfing enthusiasts.
