The Cut welcomes redevelopment

May 7, 2021

The Cut Golf Course in WA is highly regarded and it is currently ranked #16 in Australia's Top 100 by the 2021 GOLF Course Guide. Adding to the great course, it's been announced they will will soon commence construction of brand-new facilities including a fitness centre and outdoor entertainment stage, along with renovation of current food and beverage and driving range facilities after a $500k joint investment into the venue. Aptly named ‘the Cut Above Gym’, the fitness facility will be a welcomed addition to the community.
The outdoor entertainment stage, due for completion in quarter one, 2022, will host local events, performances and become a hub for the community to come together.
As a part of the redevelopment of existing facilities, the food and beverage areas will receive new furniture, sound proofing, AV systems, indoor stage, and kitchen updates.
The golf driving range will also see a facelift as a part of the upgrades with adding cover and flood lights, to play in any weather into extended opening hours.
The investment is a joint venture between managing operators Clublinks and Golf Club Investments Ltd, the owners of The Cut.
Directors of The Cut also signed an additional 25-year lease renewal agreement to 30 June 2046 from the City of Mandurah for a large parcel of land that includes 9 holes of the course, driving range, carpark, and machinery/storage sheds.
Mandurah Mayor Rhys Williams said he was excited to see the redevelopment get underway soon.
“The plans for the redevelopment at The Cut fits perfectly with our recent tourism reforms and Councils plans to see Visit Mandurah really drive new visitor experiences across the region,” he said.
“We are very lucky to have a world class golf course like The Cut here in Mandurah and this redevelopment will further add to our tourism appeal, as well as being great for local golfers.
“With events like the 2021 Mandurah Masters being hosted here in the City, it’s clear that our reputation as a destination for quality golf tourism is growing and I’m looking forward to getting out for a game at The Cut soon,” Mayor Williams said.
Chairman of Golf Club Investments Ltd, Maurice Brand, says the upgrades and new facilities will be highly valued and welcomed by the local community and visiting guests alike.
“We are thrilled to be able to bring a totally new experience to the community, which will include state-of-the-art equipment, upgrades and entertainment options not currently available in the area.
“We want to be able to provide guests with a complete experience whether that means enjoying a stunning meal, improving their health and wellbeing in the fitness centre, basking in a musical act on the outside stage or hitting some balls on the driving range as the sun sets”, said Mr Brand.
WA State Manager for Clublinks, Matt Day says that Clublinks are investing $300k of the overall $500k investment, which only highlighted the strong relationship the company currently has with The Cut.
“Clublinks is fully committed to the ongoing success of The Cut Golf Course and the investment only cements the faith the company has in the new facility’s potential offerings.”
The gym facility and food & beverage upgrades are expected to be operational in July 2021, with all additional developments and upgrades scheduled for completion by quarter one 2022.
