Hacker Cup Results 2020

16th Annual Hacker Cup
January 2020

Another successful Hacker Cup was held at the beautiful Dunes Golf Course in late January 2020. We have been really blessed over the years with the sensational weather and it was no different this year.
Scoring was a little lower than past years, with the newly crowned Hacker Cup Champion, Max Nolan accumulating 44 points off his handicap of 21. In a tightly packed field behind, Kelvin Jones was runner up on 43 points on countback from young Hayden Moulder by virtue of a superior 23 points on the back nine. Congratulations lads and Max, as scorer, handicapper, judge, jury and executioner I can confidentially say you’ll never win it again….

Also it was great to have two celebrities with us on the day, especially given our only regular celebrity Kerry Arthurs (sister of tennis great Wayne Arthurs) no longer chooses to play with us. Ex VFL legend Barry Mitchell and the youngest person to ever play for North Melbourne, Rob Petersen, joined us for the afternoon. We duly embarrassed them both and we’ll probably never see them back – but thanks anyway guys!

THE WINNER – Max Nolan

RUNNER UP – Kelvin Jones (on CB from Hayden Moulder)

OPEN CHAMPION (Non handicap) – Johnny El Fahkri

Nearest the Pin 3rd Hole – Andrew Peacock

Nearest the Pin 6th Hole – Johnno

Nearest the Pin 13th Hole – Noel T

Nearest the Pin 17th Hole – Loris Bertollo

Longest Drive – Matt Tolard

SGOD (our NAGA – Stands for "Shittest Golfer of the Day") – Tony Deluca

NEW Hacker Hall of Famer – Ted Boltong

A huge thank you to Bozgolf’s Wayne Bosley for all the Vision golf balls given out on the day and a big thank you to everyone that played!
Who knows what will happen in 2021 and beyond given the current COVID-19 crisis? We’re scheduled for January 16th 2021– so stay tuned. (pictured Below - The beautiful Dunes Golf Links)
