Jason Day Auctions Eye-Popping Masters’ Outfits Off for Charity

Jason Day turned some heads with his outfits during this year’s Masters, and now he’s turning them into cash.
The former PGA Australia star recently auctioned off a controversial vest he wore during the 2024 Masters. The item in question was a Malbon Golf vest with a large print covering most of its front. The item, along with Day’s parachute pants, gained fame during the PGA’s top tournament, leading to a significant controversy on social media.
Tournament officials asked Day to remove the vest, which he did without issue.
“Yeah, they asked me to take it off, the vest off yesterday,” Day said after the tournament. “Yeah, the busy one. Respectfully, you do that because it's all about the tournament here, and I understand that.”
He also shared his surprise at the public outcry over the loud vest. Some fans believed the golfer was attempting to make a statement and disrespect the tradition and pageantry of the Masters. While golf has been more fashionable lately, the Masters appears to be the exception among some fans.
Day made sure to make it clear the vest was not an attempt to gain attention or disrespect the tournament. He didn’t realize the unique top would be seen as a violation of the dress code or call so much attention until he was asked to remove it.
Some fans remained upset at Day’s attire, but that anger has subsided since the charitable auction.

All Proceeds Will Go to the Brighter Days Foundation

The vest sold for $18,000 at auction, which will be funneled to Jason Day’s Brighter Days Foundation. The golfer announced that he would match the winning bid with his own donation, meaning the controversial clothing would bring in $36,000.
The Brighter Days Foundation is based in Ohio, where the golfer currently resides. The charity focuses on funding resources for underprivileged children and their families in the area. They work with local organizations that help build homes, provide food, and offer other services for those in need.
The donation is just another example of the kind of person Jason Day has been since his first days on the PGA Tour of Australia.

Jason Day Longshot to Win 2025 Masters

The odds are already up for next year’s masters, and Jason Day will once again enter as a long shot. That is primarily due to his performance last season, finishing thirtieth at five over par. It was his best finish at the tournament since he was fifth in 2019.
While online casinos may not believe in Day, it would be a mistake to count the 36-year-old out. He finished the PGA season with three top-ten finishes over his last five tournaments. Day also impressed at the Olympics, finishing ninth with a score of 12 under par.
Day has come close to winning the Masters but has come up short. Over the years, we have seen many surprise winners in the PGA’s majors, and Day has the talent to be yet another one in 2025.
