Min Woo Lee: The next big thing in Australian Golf

It’s fair to say that the golfing world is in a state of flux right now and Australian players are now at the heart of the storm. A few weeks ago, everything was positive as Cameron Smith won the Open Championship with a brilliant final round at St Andrews.
Smith is also in contention to win the FedEx playoffs but his position from that point onwards is unclear. According to reports, the Man with the Mullet is the next big name to cross over to LIV Golf. Those same stories suggest that Smith’s fellow Aussie, Marc Leishman, is set to join him.
These are confusing times for the sport but there is no lack of quality coming through to replace any departures from the established Tours.
One of the best young players in the world right now is Min Woo Lee. Based out of Perth, he’s already a winner in Europe and 2023 could well be his breakthrough season.

Min Woo Lee in Numbers

After some promising returns as a junior player, Min Woo Lee turned professional in 2019. In February of that very same year, the Aussie made a big statement that underlined his huge potential.
Lee finished inside the top five in two significant tournaments on the pro circuit. He enjoyed a solo fourth at the Saudi International and finished in a tie for fifth at the ISPS Handa World Super 6 in his native Perth.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t maintain that brilliant start and those were Lee’s only Top Ten finishes of the season. It wouldn’t, however, take long before the young Aussie lifted his first professional trophy.
ISPS Handa were the sponsors once again as Min Woo Lee won the Victoria Open by two strokes from New Zealand’s Ryan Fox. A year later, he made an even bigger statement by winning one of Europe’s most prestigious events.
Victory at the 2021 Scottish Open came via a playoff. He’s yet to claim a third win but consistently good play has seen Lee climb the rankings.

Major Chances in 2023

Could Min Woo Lee be an outside bet to win a Major tournament in 2023? Those who follow golf on a weekly basis wouldn’t rule him out. At the time of writing in August 2022, Lee sits in 66th place in the Official World Golf Rankings and that’s a respectable position for someone of his age and experience.
The four Majors will commence, as always, with the US Masters in April. The Augusta National in Georgia is the venue and, with Liv Golfers still eligible, all of the world’s best golfers will be in attendance.
According to the best betting websites linked to SBO.net, Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy are joint favorites to win the 2023 US Masters with Australia’s Cameron Smith among the closest challengers.
Meanwhile, Min Woo Lee is down the field as an outside bet. There is time to change things around and the markets will react to the many tournaments which remain between now and next April.
As any updates come in, Sbo.net will publish them on their website. There will also be betting guides and comprehensive reviews of each sportsbook, and readers can get involved with the markets if they wish.
Each bookmaker will accept new players and many have a generous welcome package in place. Qualifying bets will need to be funded and there are several deposit methods to help with this.
Once onboard, customers may also receive ongoing promotions together with mobile betting and the potential for live streaming top class sport. It’s a useful site for any form of golf betting but can Min Woo Lee rise up those major markets?

What Next for Min Woo Lee?

While he’s enjoyed some success in Europe, the aim for any aspiring golfer is to make it onto the PGA Tour. Based almost exclusively in America, this is where the best players and the most prestigious tournaments can be found.
Lee will be looking to earn and maintain his Tour card and to become a regular name at the top of leaderboards. If, as expected, Marc Leishman and Cameron Smith defect to Liv Golf, Lee will also become the most visible Australian player on the circuit.
