Golf Digest Magazine Top 100 Courses 2020 released

Feb 21, 2020

ROYAL MELBOURNE WEST remains entrenched at the top of the list. As showcased to a global audience for the 2019 Presidents Cup, the course presented thrilling matches and superb shot-making by the world's best players without being humbled - yet remains playable for senior members throughout the year.

CAPE WICKHAM (below) on King Island displaced KINGSTON HEATH to take second spot. Could this public access course one day topple ROYAL MELBOURNE - WEST from the throne?

The redesign by OCCM of PENINSULA - NORTH enters the list at #6 with PENINSULA - SOUTH at #20. Both these redesigns include the Pure Distinction Bent grass greens employed in the revamp of VICTORIA which moved up 2 places to #9.

The biggest gain was by MOUNT COMPASS (below) up 23 places to #73 whilst the greatest fall was TWIN CREEKS down 18 spots to #93.

Overall, there is little significant change in the Digest rankings, especially given new methodology and the increase in panel from 45 to 182 judges.

For the first time in over 30 years, no new courses opened in 2018/19, although several re-opened.
