| Description | Eucalyptus tree-lined tight fairways with strategic bunkers and formidable water hazards. Established in 1933, Merewether Golf Course is located in the heart of Newcastle and is favourite of many golfers in the Hunter. Three 400m plus par 4's and a 200m par 3 make it a true test of your long game. The signature hole is the par 4 15th. A long uphill par 4 with a slight dogleg left, must be right of centre as anything left will make it impossible to reach the green in two. The unique closing with two par 3's and a short par 5 that give players opportunities to score well. Soft spikes required. Neat dress code. Mens Comp. Thur, Sat Ladies Comp. Wed, Fri am chook run, Sat Mixed Comp. Sun Vets Comp. Tue Visitors with handicap welcome in all comps. Visitors welcome outside of comp times. Bookings essential. |
