Elvis Smylie wins LIV Golf debut

Feb 9, 2026

In his LIV Golf Debut, Australia’s Elvis Smylie won the LIV Golf event in Riyadh. It was a stunning start for the young gun as LIV Golf heads down under this week. He shot a final round bogey free 64 to stay one shot ahead of former World Number 1 Jon Rahm.

Players and teams from the league touched down at Adelaide Airport ahead of LIV Golf Adelaide 2026 last night (Sunday Feb 8th), marking the official start of tournament week for what has been voted the World’s Best Golf Event for a third consecutive year.

Leading the arrivals were hometown heroes Ripper GC, returning as the reigning team champions off the back of their victory in Riyadh, joined by new signing Elvis Smylie, who arrived in Adelaide after claiming the individual title on his LIV Golf debut just 24 hours earlier. Local fans will be hoping momentum is firmly with Ripper GC as they look to defend their title in front of a home crowd.
