Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen wins Crown Australian Open

Dec 8, 2025

For the fourth time in four years, an international is taking home the Stonehaven Cup awarded for winning our Australian Open. In a tense finish, Denmark’s Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen (-15) won by a single shot from our very own Cameron Smith (-14).

Neergaard made a great up and down to salvage par at the last hole and his playing partner in the final group, Australia’s Cameron Smith, had a chance to force a playoff. However he lipped out a six footer to finish in sole second place with Si Woo Kim a further shot back in third.

It was a great week with Rory McIlroy the headline act of a strong field. Huge crowds went through the gates, numbering over 100,000 over the four days and the Royal Melbourne composite layout once again showed why it is one of the best golfing venues in the world.

Si Woo Kim of South Korea, South African Michael Hollick and Australian Adam Scott have qualified for The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale through the Crown Australian Open. Winner Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen on 15-under-par was already exempt one shot ahead of 2022 Champion Golfer, Cam Smith.

So the three spots up for grabs went to Kim (one shot further back on 13-under-par), while Hollick and Scott finished in fourth and fifth to seal their places in The Open next year.
