American Ryggs Johnston won the ISPS HANDA Australia Open with four impressive rounds (65-68-68-68), taking home our nation’s Stonehaven Cup. Curtis Luck from WA tried hard to bridge the gap and held the lead for a short time during the final round, however the impressive Johnston pulled clear to win comfortably by three strokes. Aussies Marc Leishman and Jasper Stubbs finished T3.

On the women’s side of the draw the news wasn’t any better for our nation’s women, with Korean Jiyan Shin finishing on -17, two strokes clear of South African two-time winner Ashleigh Buhai. Amateur Hyojin Yang was third, well back on -7, with a swag of pre-tournament fancied Australia favourites filling the top 10, led by Grace Kim and Hannah Green T4 (-6).
