Robert MacIntyre from Scotland won his maiden PGA TOUR victory in his 45th start at the RBC Canadian Open in Hamilton, Ontario.
MacIntyre becomes the fifth player this season to convert four-stroke 54-hole lead/co-lead to a win (Jake Knapp/Mexico Open at Vidanta, Akshay Bhatia/Valero Texas Open, Chris Gotterup/Myrtle Beach Classic, Davis Riley/Charles Schwab Challenge). The victory moves him from No. 76 to No. 39 in the Official World Golf Ranking, securing a spot in the U.S. Open.
In his debut at the RBC Canadian Open, Ben Griffin (2nd/-15) carded a bogey-free 65 in the final round to finish runner up for the second time in his career. France native Victor Perez (3rd/-14) posted his best result in his 14th PGA TOUR start this season.
Three-time PGA TOUR winner Tom Kim (T4/-13) closed with a 6-under 64, marking his first top-10 finish this season, sharing T4 with two-time RBC Canadian Open champion Rory McIlroy.
As we near the US Open in a fortnight, the best placed Aussie was Adam Scott - T42. Aaron Baddeley (+8) and Harrison Endycott (+11) both missed the Cut.
